Our Staff

Erin Geary
Erin is one of our Veterinary Technicians. She has worked at Crossroads since April of 2012. Erin spent many years in retail before making a career change to veterinary medicine. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising from Missouri State University and a Veterinary Technician degree from Brown Mackie College. Erin is from Granger, IN, but now lives in Edwardsburg, MI. She is the mom of the most adorable Pitbull named Athena, 2 indoor cats (mother and son duo), Betty and Norbert, and 2 feral cats, NC (neighborhood cat) and Calico. Her favorite part of the job is smooching all the patients and seeing all her favorite patients over the years. In her spare time, Erin enjoys traveling, reading, crocheting, spending time on the lake and hanging out with friends and family.

Cindy Brown
Cindy is our “official” Office Manager and one of our Veterinary Technicians. She has worked at Crossroads since June of 1987. Cindy graduated from Michigan State University with a Veterinary Technician degree. She was born and raised in White Pigeon, MI and still lives there with her husband and cat. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the animals that come in every day. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Becky Garcia
Becky is our Surgery/Vet Assistant. She has worked at Crossroads since October of 2016. Becky is a Marcellus, MI native and lives there with her husband and (evil) cat Penelope. She has 4 grown boys and 2 grandchildren. Her favorite part of her job is scheduling surgeries and meeting all the new puppies and kittens. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming, and lake life.
Bev Gahan
Bev is one of our Veterinary Receptionists and our “go-to” person for everything else! She has worked at Crossroads since April of 2007 and has held various positions. Bev is originally from Chicago, IL, but now lives in Three Rivers with her husband. She also shares her house with her dog, Frankie, and cat, VonTrapp. Bev has 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren that she loves to visit. She attended school at Madonna HS, UICC and DePaul University where she was a sorority girl! Her favorite part of the job is helping to improve the lives of animals and getting puppy kisses. Outside of work you can find her working on set constructions for local productions and going to see live theater.
Michelle Gooden
Michelle is one of our Veterinary Receptionists. Michelle has been in the veterinary field for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience, heart, and reliability to our team. As a receptionist, Michelle loves having the best of both worlds – being around animals and getting to know the people who love and care for them. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and her significant other, Wayne. She’s the proud mom of four boys and has two grandsons. In her free time, she loves fishing, reading, gardening, and canning.

Heidi Robertson
Heidi is our Practice Manager. She has worked at Crossroads since June of 2020, but has been in vet med for over 18 years. She lives in Plainwell with her significant other, Jeramy and has 2 daughters, Tayler and KC. Heidi has 5 dogs (Bella, Butch, Penelope, Jax, and Dylan) and 3 cats (Oscar, Prince Beasty, and Remus). In her free time, she enjoys camping, being grandma to Theo, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite past times include reading and watching Criminal Minds. Heidi’s favorite part of her job is interacting with clients and their animals.

Kim Wheeler
Kim is one of our Veterinary Receptionists. She has worked at Crossroads since May of 2021. Kim worked at the West Michigan Cancer Center for over eight years before moving over to the animal side of medicine. She lives in Otsego, MI with her husband, John, and dog, Kumar. Kim has 3 adult children and 2 wonderful grandsons that she loves to spoil. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time crafting, camping, being outside, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite part of the job is seeing all the different dogs and cats that come into the clinic.

Vicki Collins
Vicki is one of our Veterinary Receptionists. She has worked at Crossroads since November of 2021. Vicki has worked in customer service for many years and makes it a personal goal to treat others in the same manner that she would like to be treated. Her passion has always been the love and welfare of pets who she views as loving members of every family. Prior to her employment at Crossroads, Vicki was a professional dog groomer for over 10 years. Vicki was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She has been married for 26 years and has 2 children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. When not working Vicki enjoys spending time with her friends and family doing outdoor activities and enjoying lake life! She also enjoys crocheting, reading, and shopping.

Sarah Herlein
Sarah is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since May of 2022, but has worked in vet med since 2020. She began her journey working with animals professionally by interning at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, IN. Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Environmental Science from Manchester University and a master’s degree in Biology from Miami of Ohio. She has 5 cats (Beatrice, Midna, Nebula, Tofu, and Ivy), the sweetest chihuahua named Lola Jean, and 2 geckos. Sarah recently married her wonderful husband on June 29, 2025. Her favorite part of the job is making connections with clients and snuggling all the kittens. In her spare time, Sarah loves gardening, swimming, and playing video games.

Sophia Feller
Sophia is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since August of 2022. She is a Centreville High School graduate and is currently working on her Veterinary Technician Degree through Penn Foster. Sophia is a single mother to a very spoiled dog named Ola. Outside of work you can find her snowboarding or playing softball. Her favorite parts of the job are her awesome co-workers and learning new skills.

Chelsea Harris
Chelsea is one of our Veterinary Technicians. She has worked at Crossroads since January of 2022, but has worked in vet med for over 12 years. Chelsea is from Plainwell, MI, where she currently lives with her significant other, Andy, and son, Jack. She graduated from Baker College and has experience in General Practice and Emergency Medicine. Chelsea has 6 dogs, 2 cats, and sometimes chickens. Her favorite part of the job is working with all her awesome coworkers and interacting with our clients and their pets. In her spare time, you can find her soaking up the sunshine and spending time with family.

Michelle Clift
Michelle is one of our Veterinary Receptionists. She has worked at Crossroads since September of 2021. Michelle was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Michigan after marrying her husband. They have been married for more than 20 years and have 3 children, 1 grand baby, and 2 dogs (Nova and Earl). Michelle spent most of her life taking care of humans in healthcare and decided to make a change to animals. Her favorite part of her job is seeing all her fur babies and making relationships with their owners. When not at work you can find her making memories with her family.

Madelyn Keith
Madelyn is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since June of 2022. Madelyn is currently working on her Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster. Madelyn’s favorite part of her job is making her coworkers laugh and taking care of the hospitalized patients. She married her wonderful husband Wesley in May of 2024. Currently they have 2 dogs, 3 cats, chickens, and jumping spiders. In her free time, she loves to sing in her Catholic church choir, lift weights, play DND, and perfect her bread making skills.

Caitlin Knichek
Caitlin is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since September of 2024, but has been in vet med since 2017. Caitlin attended Purdue University (Boiler Up!) for 2 years and is currently working on her Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster. Her favorite part of the job is seeing the impact that she can make on an animal’s life – big or small. It is not only the life-saving medical treatment that can change a pet’s life for the better. Caitlin has been married since 2023 and currently has 3 Siberian Huskies (Han Solo, Zima, and Falcon) and a FIV+ kitty named Mumford. When she is not working (or doing schoolwork) you can find her walking her dogs, spending money in a garden center, or relaxing on the Lake Michigan shore.

Billi Kruger
Billi is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since March of 2024, but has worked in vet med since 2017. Billi’s favorite part of her job is drawing blood and meeting all the new puppies and kittens. She married her amazing husband, Paul, in September of 2023. Billi has one daughter, Jayden, who is her whole world! In her free time, she is a passionate hunter, loves to play softball and soccer, four-wheeling, and camping. Billi especially loves coaching and watching her daughter play sports. She also has 1 dog, 2 ducks, chickens and a peacock to keep her busy!

Kenzie Stone
Kenzie is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since December of 2024 but has worked in vet med for almost 5 years. Kenzie has 2 cats named Brizbane and Zion. The best part of her job is watching animals feel better after the treatment we’ve provided. Kenzie loves all outdoor activities, including paddleboarding, kayaking, and hiking. If not doing one of her outdoor activities, you can find her cuddling her cats while reading her favorite book or building Lego sets. Most importantly, Kenzie’s favorite color is purple.

Destiny Reiff
Destiny is one of our Veterinary Assistants. She has worked at Crossroads since June of 2025 and is currently working on her Veterinary Technician Degree through Penn Foster. Destiny was raised in Constantine, Mi, but has lived all over the country. Destiny welcomed a very spunky little girl into this world earlier this year. She is staying very busy navigating her new role as a mom. Outside of work, Destiny enjoys spending time with friends and family. Destiny especially loves the outdoors and going fishing, camping, and all the new breweries. She is a true crime junky who always loves a good adrenaline rush. Destiny’s favorite part of the job is the unpredictability of each workday.

Poppy Seed Muffin
Poppy is our Office Manager. She has “worked” at Crossroads since January of 2021. Prior to Crossroads she was living loose and care-free outside a nursing home. Dr. Horton inquired about her stray status and was informed that the nursing home was putting out food and water for her and they assumed she was a stray. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Horton catnapped her and she was quickly named our new Office Manager. Poppy quickly forgot her life in the wild and now demands only Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach canned food and filtered water! Her favorite activities include napping, chasing the laser light, stealing our food (chicken nuggets are her fav), and plotting world domination. She especially loves supervising everyone’s bathroom habits and is irritated if not invited in. Poppy’s favorite part of the job is judging everyone – whether it be your clothes, your dog’s barking, or simply for just existing.
