Dr. Sands received his B.S at Michigan State University in 1972 and graduated as a DVM from Michigan State University in 1973. He practiced in Maine, Illinois, and Michigan before opening the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in 1979. Bill and his wife Sue have 3 children and 6 grandchildren between them. His professional interest is surgery. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, woodworking, and photography. He has 2 dogs and 1 cat.
Dr. Carol Horton
Dr. Horton is a 1990 graduate from Michigan State University. She has been a doctor at Crossroads Veterinary Clinic since 1993. Her interests are in dermatology and dentistry. She is happily married with 2 children. She enjoys scrapbooking, gardening, skiing, and 4-H. Her pets include 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 turtles, 2 rabbits and 1 hamster.
Technician & Assistants
Cindy is a 1987 licensed veterinary technician graduate from Michigan State University. She has been working at Crossroads Veterinary Clinic since 1987. Cindy is married with 2 children. In her down time she enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, swimming, and camping. She has 1 cat and a fish.
Bev has been an assistant with the clinic since 2007 and always wears a smile. She is married with 2 children. Her interests include cooking, gardening, and choir boosters. Her family includes a dog and 2 cats.
Erin graduated in 2011 from Brown Mackie with a veterinary technician degree. She began working for Crossroads in April of 2012. When she’s not hard at work she enjoys reading, crocheting, and boating. She also loves spending time with friends, family, her Shih Tzu Odie and her rescued Pittbull Athena.
Michelle was employed with us as a receptionist from 1989 to 1994. She came back to Crossroads in 2013 as a vet assistant. She is married and the mother of 4 boys. Her interests include gardening, canning, reading, skiing, and she loves to research information. She is a licensed minister and is currently a student working towards her bachelors in biblical theology and church ministry. A dog and cat complete her family. Michelle has a great sense of humor and you can always count on her for fun and laughter.
Becky is a vet assistant and is married with 4 kids. She loves hanging out with her friends, baking, and pretty much any outdoor activity. She has two cats named Buster and Sofia.
Receptionists & Public Relations
Julie has been our pleasant voice on the phone since 2001. She is married with 2 children. She enjoys scrap-booking, camping, 4 wheeling, and 4-H. She also greatly enjoys her 2 dogs, 5 cats, 4 goats, chickens, rabbits, and pigs.
Sarah is our receptionist at the front desk. She loves reading, hiking and swimming. She lives with her husband and their dog Bonnie and cat Chewbacca.
Sue has been our wonderful office manager for many years. She is married to Dr. Sands. Sue enjoys traveling and playing cards.
